Siamese - Large - Young - Male - Cat - Palmer
Description
Update 9/09: Palmer has been in foster care for over a year, and he has made some great progress. He now sleeps in the bed with his foster mom and loves to be petted. He also has this remarkable ability to get other cats to like him. We have never seen anything quite like Palmer! He is so docilebut just doesn't give up until the other cat is his friend. One of his foster brothers, Wilson, hates every other cat and dog in his foster home. If anyone comes close to him he will smack them. Palmer tried and did not give up until he won Wilson over. Palmer is the only cat Wilson will allow to hang out with him, and they even groom each other and cuddle together. Palmer has also made friends with other cats who generally don't like other cats. He is the perfect cat for a home with a cat who usually doesn't like other cats, but they need a companion for company. Give Palmer a try! If he can get a head-butt from Wilson, anything is possible! Palmer is a gorgeous chocolate point Siamese mix. He is a special needs kitty only because he is a little shy around people and will need a home where he can be allowed to roam around and not be pushed to be petted and held. He didn't get a lot of socialization as a kitten, and though he has been in foster care a while, he chooses to hang out with the kitties and dogs rather than the people in his foster home. He is a good kitty - he uses the litterbox, doesn't get into any fights, loves the doggies, and tolerates a busy household - he just doesn't like to be picked up or petted. He doesn't bite or scratch, but he does wiggle away. Palmer has occassionally gotten in the bed to sleep after everyone had already settled in and was quiet. He just needs a home that understands his shy personality and doesn't mind letting him adjust at his own pace. Palmer has a reduced adoption fee of $50.00. It's not that we think he's any less worthy than our other adoptable babies, but we understand that most people who want to adopt a cat would prefer a more affectionate companion. If you wouldn't mind a cat who prefers to be seen and not rubbed, contact his foster mom! Not yet ready to adopt? You can sponsor a pet now to help pay for medical expenses, special diets, toys and treats, emergency medical care, etc., to provide for him or her during foster care. Our adoption fee rarely covers our expenses, so any size donation is appreciated!Click the Sponsor Me! logo to make a donation. **********************************************All of our cats and kittens are fostered in homes so we know their personalities. They are spayed or neutered, tested for FLV (and FIV if over 6 months), up to date on shots, wormed, and on flea preventative. All kittens must be inside only until at least 6 months of age. Our goal is to match our fosters with the best home possible. The adoption fee for cats and kittens is $75.00. Please contact the foster mom below the photo for more information.
