Journey is an absolutely adorable 14 week old blue and white piebald female American Pit Bull Terrier. This little bully was purchased from a breeder by a college student, and then when the owner returned home with her he was told he was not allowed to have her, so she was sent to an all breed rescue who realized they just could not handle her breed, or properly screen applicants to ensure she got the right home. So, Journey came to Pit Prints. Journey is a typical Pit pup- energetic, active, destructive, and stubborn- she will need a home with someone who is patient, can spend sufficient time with her for training, and has Pit Bull experience. Due to the rough nature of Pit Bull puppies, we do not place pups under the age of 6 months in homes with children under the age of 5. Journey is affectionate, intelligent, and willing to do ANYTHING for a treat; she knows "sit" and will even "stay" for her food before eating, though currently, these are her only known commands. She has made it clear that she enjoys being spoiled, pampered, and loved. Journey does well in the car, enjoys toys, loves treats, and is beginning her training to be a well-rounded Bully ambassador; she's currently going through some modification training because at her young age, she has some food aggression and some dominance issues with other dogs; it may be in her best interest to be placed in a home without other dogs, because she may be showing some early signs of dog aggression and not just dominance, though we're working on that to see, but she's just arrived in the rescue, so we have not had the time to determine the root of the problem. Presently, Journey does well with other animals, cats included, but due to the Pit Bull's tendency to be same sex dog aggressive, she will not be placed into a home with other female dogs. Due to her age, she is not fully housebroken, but she is doing well with housebreaking/crate training to help with her training. Journey has been spayed, has begun her puppy vaccines, fecal tested and dewormed, started on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. There is a $300.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Journey is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Journey or any of our rescued Pit Bulls. Application, adoption fee, home checks, references, and contract are REQUIRED for adoption. Journey is ready for a loving, forever home with someone who can commit to her for the next 12-15 years of her life.
