Benjamin is an absolutely adorable 2 year old blue and white male American Pit Bull Terrier. This handsome bully boy was found as a stray in Columbus, GA. and was subsequently taken to a shelter where he was deemed "unadoptable" due to his dog aggression. He was taken in as a foster by a couple who couldn't bear to see him euthanized and were hoping he would adjust to other dogs with socialization and training; they have been unsuccessful and with having dogs of their own, they have had some fights due to Bejamin's issues so he desperately needs another place to go. Benjamin hopes someone will come along and see what a great boy he is, and offer him a forever home and a life full of pampering and spoiling! Benjamin is a high energy boy who loves the outdoors; he loves to play fetch with a "chuck it" toy, and will fetch until he is exhausted, if you allow him to. He's affectionate, intelligent, and ever-so-loyal. He's made it clear that he enjoys being spoiled, pampered, and loved. Benjamin enjoys toys, loves treats, and is beginning his training to be a well-rounded Bully ambassador. He walks well on leash with the assistance of a prong collar, but without one will pull. He makes no complaints about being handled all over or having items removed from his mouth- he's just glad to get the attention. Benjamin has proven to have difficulties living with other dogs, so he needs to be the only pet in his adoptive home; due to Benjamin's dog aggression, he will not be placed in a home with other dogs. Benjamin is housebroken and crate trained. He has been neutered, vaccinated, fecal tested and dewormed, heartworm tested; he is HW positive but will be treated prior to adoption, and is microchipped. There is a $200.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Benjamin is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Benjamin or any of our rescued Pit Bulls. Application, adoption fee, home checks, references, and contract are REQUIRED for adoption.
