Sugar is an absolutely adorable 18 month old 45lb white female American Pit Bull Terrier. This beautiful bully was originally rescued as a 3 day old pup with her 12 littermates and her mother; 11 of her siblings died, and her mother and surviving sibling were both adopted out. She, however, remained with her rescuers and until recently was going to remain a permanent resident there, but she has begun having issues with the other dogs in the home and her rescuers feel she needs to be placed in a home without other pets. She is currently isolated from other dogs and is not receiving the attention she craves, or deserves, and we are desperate for Sugar to find another place to call home- this time, for good. Sugar is affectionate, intelligent, and willing to do ANYTHING for a treat- she is obedience trained (knows commands "sit", "stay", "leave it", and "come"), making things very easy for her new family. She loves to go for walks and car rides, loves treats (especially peanut butter), playing with kongs, rope toys, and playing ball. Sugar craves mental stimulation and loves anything that challenges her and keeps her mind working. Sugar loves attention from people, children included. She makes no complaints about being bathed, groomed, handled all over, or having items removed from her mouth. Sugar is cat friendly, and may be able to be placed with a compatible male dog, but we are recommending that she be placed as the only dog in her adoptive home. Sugar is housebroken and crate trained. She has been spayed, vaccinated, Heartworm tested negative and kept current on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. There is a $200.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Sugar is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Sugar or any of our rescued Pit Bulls. Application, adoption fee, home checks, references, and contract are REQUIRED for adoption.
