Sampson is an absolutely adorable 2 year old fawn male American Pit Bull Terrier. This handsome bully boy was found as a stray in October 2008 by a staff member of a Knoxville, TN. vet clinic- they took Sampson in with hopes of finding him a home, but it's been almost a year and they have had no luck finding him a great home. Sampson is desperate to get out of the kennel and have a home life, like a normal Bully should. The vet staff adores Sampson and only wants what's best for him, so they've reached out to Pit Prints to find him the ideal home for him. We have hopes that a great family will come along and scoop Sampson up, offering him all the love, attention, and pampering he deserves! Sampson is an energetic boy who has a lot of pent up energy from being kenneled long term; he would most likely be a mellow boy once in a home and able to receive regular attention and exercise, but he would benefit from someone who can offer him some follow up training. He currently knows "sit", "paw", and "down"- and walks well on leash with the aid of a prong collar. His favorite pastime activities include long walks, car rides, giving BIG wet kisses to everyone he meets, and rolling around in the grass, showing off his goofy side. He's affectionate, intelligent, and ever-so-loyal. He's made it clear that he enjoys being spoiled, pampered, and loved. Sampson enjoys toys, loves treats, and even more, loves people (children included); he does have a tendency to jump when he first meets someone, and when he's excited, but with a little training, this can be corrected. He makes no complaints about being handled all over or having items removed from his mouth- he's just glad to get the attention. Sampson interacts well with other dogs of all sizes, though due to the Pit Bulls' tendency for same sex dog aggression, he will not be placed in a home with other male dogs. Sampson is housebroken and crate trained. He has been neutered, vaccinated, fecal tested and dewormed, heartworm tested negative and kept on heartworm prevention, and microchipped. There is a $200.00 adoption fee to partially reimburse the organization for the veterinary expenses listed above. Sampson is looking for an INDOOR home, ONLY: we do not adopt to homes that will keep our rescued Pitties outdoors and/or on chains, runners, or in fences, kennels, pens, etc- If you cannot/will not provide an indoor home for our Bullies, or are looking to breed/fight, do NOT contact our organization (or apply for adoption) regarding Sampson or any of our rescued Pit Bulls. Application, adoption fee, home checks, references, and contract are REQUIRED for adoption.
