Jack, an 8-year-old lab thats got a heart of gold despite having had a very rough life to date. Jack was neglected by his owners for most of his life, and now theyve abandoned him completely. They decided they just didnt have room for him anymore and were right about to destroy him when I stepped in and got him out of there. A friend of mine was kind enough to foster him for a few weeks while we tried to find a permanent home, but its been difficult so far. Yes, hes a bit older, but you get a lot of benefits from that hes not hyper, hes already house trained, and hes great with kids (see photos) and other dogs. Jack is up-to-date on shots, but has been diagnosed with early stage heartworm. His prior owners have paid for two years worth of preventative medication, and those will be provided to whoever adopts him. But honestly, the medication wont cure his heartworm problem and so he may only have a couple of years left to live.
