Box 792 Ellijay,GA 30540 Website: www.homeward.petfinder.com Email: homeward@ellijay.com Date of Birth:  2-20-04Age:  5 years and 5 months oldRyder is a Lab/Brittany Spaniel mix.  He weighs about 61.5 pounds and is a beautiful dog.  He came to our rescue group in 8/04 and was originally adopted from us in 9/04.  That family dropped him off back to us without any warning in 1/05, not sure why.  He was adopted again from us in 2/05.  We received a call from his family on 4/21/09 that they foreclosed on their home and were moving into an apartment with their 14 year old dog but couldn't take Ryder with them.  They returned Ryder to us on 4/25/09 after having him for 4 years.This poor fella has been with us and 2 families in his 5 young years.  We were told by his family that he was living as an indoor dog with access to a fenced in yard when the owners were home.  They stated that he still sometimes messed in the house because they worked long hours and were not home to let him out so they would put puppy pads out.  They stated that he would growl if messed with by dogs or people when eating but it was never more than a growl.  The family said that Ryder did great with their 8 year old nephew so we think he would be fine with children 8 and over.  Ryder is good with other dogs, especially females!  He is protective of the woman in the home.  He slept in bed with his owners, streched out beside them.  He barked at the dogs next door but his tail wagged the whole time.  If he got loose he would not run away and comes right back.  Ryder eats dry Gravy Train or Alpo food mixed with water.  The former owner said he is not destructive in the home but will get into purses or medication bottles, so keep them up!  He loves toys and will chew them up.  Ryder would love an active family that can spend time with him and give him the time and exercise that he needs.  They say that the 3rd time is the charm, so let's make this Ryder's FINAL home!  He deserves it!  He is neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, heartworm negative and is on monthly heartworm and flea preventative.  Adoption fee is $145.00.  If you are interested in adopting Ryder please complete an online application!
