Lovely Lola is longing for a loving home. OK. Alliteration aside -- this gentle 7 year-old Lab/cattle dog mix is simply huggable. And when she looks at you with her doe eyes, you will surely melt. Her story is not uncommon. Unfortunately, fate dealt Lola a blow when her beloved owner died of terminal cancer, leaving behind Lola and two doggie pals. The owner's sister had agreed to take care of the dogs, but chose to abandon them instead. Lola was left behind, alone, as the two other dogs in her home found new families. We're sure she was confused, and longed for the days when her owner took such good care of her. To top it off, Lola had lousy timing. She landed in a shelter just before a natural disaster resulted in a huge influx of homeless animals. Things weren't looking good for Lola. She was a dog with three strikes against her -- an older, black dog surrendered to the shelter. But, ADS heard her story and couldn't leave her at the shelter to die. Lola is loving life in her foster home with two small children. She took immediately to the older child, and is learning to peacefully co-exist with the more animated toddler. A quieter environment appeals to Lola. Her credentials are impeccable: She loves to play fetch and go on walks. She's housebrokern and knows commands such as couch, sit, lay down, stay, shake, and up. She will chase a cat if it runs -- but hey, no one is perfect. So, if you're looking for a lovable, lovely lady --you would be lucky to live with Lola. No lie.
