If so, Ridge Creek, Inc. a therapeutic wilderness program located in Dahlonega, Georgia is hiring wilderness instructors. As a wilderness instructor you will be responsible for the following:

Job Description and Duties:
* Assists the Wilderness Team Leader with the execution of his duties to train classes of students in the program.
* Provide daily instruction on all subjects covered in the wilderness leadership program. Teach subjects as the primary or assistant instructor on campus and in the field. Stay abreast of all pertinent subject material and rehearse classes as needed to provide clearly understood and professional instruction.
* Supervise students at all times while on duty both on campus and in the field. Provide a positive role model for students at all times. Be positive, and provide encouragement and motivation to students.
* Become fully certified and stay proficient at basic medical tasks outlined in Wilderness Curriculum. Be prepared to administer and teach CPR to staff and students alike.
* Continually refine and update personal training and instruction that ensures safe and professional training for students.
* Lead daily physical training and maintain a high level of physical fitness that sets a positive example for students. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
* Act in the capacity as safety monitor to ensure students and staff take no unnecessary risks while conducting trainings. Use the risk management process to ensure risks are weighed and analyzed prior to executing tasks.
* Supervise students in the field during all climatic and seasonal conditions on overnight wilderness activities. These may be single or multi-day events.
* Perform staff duty as required on campus to monitor students while not in training.
* Interact with Wilderness Team Leader, Counselors, and other Wilderness Leadership Instructors to provide feedback and input on individual students. Provide written documentation and counseling and complete other written academic requirements daily.
* Be fully prepared, mentally and physically, to deal with highly impressionable students.
Qualifications
o Mature individual at least 21 years of age, with some previous experience working with adolescents.
o High school diploma, college degree preferred.
o Willingness and ability to learn and teach all subject matter contained in Wilderness curriculum.
o Excellent physical condition.
