Our client is seeking an extremely senior level resource for an enterprise level Novell to Active Directory file migration.


Day to day responsibilities will include initial discovery work and throughout the duration of the migration. There are well over 100 Novell file systems that need to be moved to Active Directory; this accounts for almost 25TB of data, 41 million files. This candidate will be building new file systems, migrating file systems, deep analysis of "who owns what data on the Novell file system", building a process to move data over, and building a security structure from scratch, organizing results, working w/ NetApp V-Series filer.


To be considered for this role, a candidate must possess extremely senior level engineering/migration skills in these skill areas: eDirectory, Novell NetWare 6.5(might consider 6.0 if the candidate is very senior), Novell File Systems, Active Directory, CIFS, VBScripting, very large scale enterprise environment experience(see info above re: size of file systems being migrated).


Target start date is the first week of December, but can start earlier. Interview later this week or next week. Contract will initially run through at least the end of April, quite possibly longer. The candidate will be required to work onsite at the client.
