Scope:


Product Implementation is responsible for driving initial implementation of ITS&S products at customers, implementing changes in functionality or new products at existing customers, and managing the implementation of new product functionality authorized by Product Strategy. The Program Manager will work in a matrixed environment; using resources assigned by other departments or external partners, and will take ownership of managing all aspects of an assigned project. He/she will utilize sound project management skills and business acumen to deliver projects within budget and time.

Main Accountabilities:

*Develops overall high level and detailed project plans
*Identifies tasks, makes work assignments, and establishes deadlines.
*Coordinates the development, certification, testing and implementation activities for each project.
*Monitors status against plan.
*Provides project leadership and technical direction for assigned staff.
*Evaluates and provides performance evaluation feedback to management.
*Identifies resources required to complete the implementation and coordinating with internal and external suppliers for those resources
*Manages the relationship with the customer, including frequent interaction with customer executive team.
*Identifies critical path items and key dependencies
*Identifies to senior management and other stakeholders when tasks fall behind schedule
*Exercises sound business judgment in decision making in order to ensure on-time implementations
*Assists in development of budget for each project, including capital and expense items, and resources. Monitors and reports on actual expenses; explains variances.
*Coordinate activities with legal where necessary to insure compliance with contractual terms.
*Ensures successful project implementations which typically result in revenue typically of $10 20 million. Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education:
*Minimum 3-5 years experience in IT Project/Program Management, in the travel industry
*Exceptional communication skills with strong presentation and written skills
*Demonstrable success in managing large complex IT implementations and bringing them within budget and time
*Strong knowledge of project management principles, professional project management certifications required.
*College graduate, preferable in computer science, electrical engineering, or other related IT focused area of study
*Must have excellent customer engagement skills and strong interpersonal skills
*Detail oriented, with exceptional follow-up skills
*A find-a-way, get-it done attitude. Able to think creatively to overcome obstacles
*Ability to influence without direct management control of all resources
*Strong negotiation skills and ability to comprehend agreements.

Context/Environment:


The Program Manager provides leadership to a multifunctional team including staff from development, technical operations, account management, sales, and product strategy in implementing IT projects of varying sizes up to over $20 million in value. Product implementation is a core dependency for the success of ITS&S. Timely and successful implementations are critical to the continued growth of ITS&S. The incumbent is required to work within a complex and continuously changing environment with multiple priorities and across many cultures.

Key Measures :


Manages a matrixed staff of 10-15 resources on each project. Assigned resources may include managers from Sales, Account Management, Development, Product Strategy, Technical Operations, Legal, 3rd party resources, IT Analysts. Implements products with revenue potential usually of up to $10 million to $20 million, although a project could be higher. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing the project with time constraints and budget provided by contract, work orders, or internal agreements. The Program Manager will interact on a daily basis with the executives of customers to manage the implementation.

Working Relationship:


Must effectively interact with senior levels of customers and 3rd parties to implement projects.

Must effectively interact with Vice President Level and above to staff and manage projects and provide status reports. Will direct the efforts of the implementation team. Manages matrixes development staff assigned to implementation project.
