Responsibilities:


The right candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a database administrator in both Oracle and SQL Server DBA background who is also familiar with mySQL and Postgress SQL. Qualified candidates will have previous experience in Oracle Database and SQL Server 2005 application administration supporting enterprise high volume high availability mission critical environments.

Breakdown


Oracle 60%, remaining 40% will be spent on SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MYSQL

Understand Data Modeling as it relates to both a logical and a physical model.

Manage the Change Control process to insure that changes are being made at the appropriate times.

Establish, maintain and document an appropriate DB maintenance schedule via the Production scheduler, keeping the requirements of the application in mind.

Perform database maintenance functions.

Ensure the availability of the data through the development and installation of a disaster recovery strategy.

Understand and research RDBMS related security issues.

Serve as technical advisor, providing technical expertise and training to the application developers and end-users as needed, along with assisting with the development of RDBMS applications

Perform monitoring and troubleshooting of the application systems.

Recommend performance improvements to the application teams.

Requirements:

*A minimum of 10 years experience in Oracle Database and 4 years SQL Server 2005 administration supporting enterprise high volume high availability mission critical environments.
*Strong Oracle RAC experience
*Oracle Database Backups and Recovery
*Expert Knowledge of Oracle Architecture
*Strong Database Performance Tuning Skills
*Strong Database Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution skills.
*Strong Oracle 8i/9i/10g/11 DBA skills
*Strong SQL Server 2005 DBA skills
*Strong SQL and PL/SQL Development skills
*Experience working in supporting Application, development and production database environments
*Bachelor Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems science, management information systems, mathematics or related field.
