Job description:
- The Director of IT Operations will plan, coordinate, direct, and design IT systems/operations, as well as provide strategic direction on identifying IT solutions to enhance business operations. The Director of IT will work closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.
- Provides leadership and direction to the professionals in the IT Operations team, by promoting an enjoyable work environment and resolving internal conflicts between members of the team.
- Evaluates external products and services (cost, quality, value added, etc.) in support of the business operations; has responsibility for leasing or purchasing decisions related to these products or services; negotiates with vendors.
- Coordinates with Software Development and Architecture to ensure data, technology, and application architecture direction is incorporated into the enterprise technology strategy and IT projects and is executed upon.
- Coordinates with IT Technical Support services to ensure delivery and support of technology solutions, infrastructure solutions, steady state operations, customer satisfaction, system performance, and continuous productivity are included in the strategy and IT projects and is executed upon.
- Coordinates change management processes ensuring all projects scope changes are visible, analyzed, reviewed, documented and communicated.
- Conducts projects review meetings ensuring all required deliverables are complete.
- Monitors resources and staff dependencies and conflicts; facilitates resolution of scope, schedule and resource conflicts.
- Must have Demonstrated success delivering complex IT infrastructure projects.
- Strong presentation skills
- Demonstrated success in forming strategic partnerships with the business leaders within the company.
- Experience in managing a team of 10+internal and external resources working in a multi-disciplined environment.
- Strong communication, influencing and leadership skills; is comfortable in presenting to executive management.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity, ability to work with ambiguity, and strong sense of confidence to deliver on responsibilities.
- Solely manages Responsibility for yearly Department Budget Plan.
- Leads strategic technological planning to achieve business goals by prioritizing technology initiatives and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technologies as it relates to the new Data Center Operations. Collaborates with the appropriate departments to develop and maintain a technology plan that supports the organizations Business Continuity Plan.
- Responsible for the IT Business Continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing to ensure IT business recovery in the event of any disruptions.
- Responsible for developing the Enterprise Infrastructure Network Operations Center/Data Center operating and capital budgets for purchasing, staffing, and operations to ensure cost efficiencies and improve IT productivity.
- Acts as an advocate and ensures adherence to IT governance practices and methodologies and understands IT Departmental Goals and Objectives and delivers work products to contribute to those goals. Works closely with IT Security to enforce policies.
- Develops, manages, and builds strong relationships/partnerships with clients, vendors, peers/other teams, and staff to ensure a high level of personal and team understanding of the client's business operations, IT support needs, and IT service expectations. Responsible for the ultimate satisfaction of all Information Technology (IT) clients and supporting the IT vision. Works with all levels of management to communicate and resolve business related issues.
- Directs IT staff, promotes career development opportunities, provides mentoring to the staff to encourage personal growth and advancement, and promotes delivery of high quality customer service and team productivity. Actively pursues personal leadership development to ensure growth and the ability to demonstrate a high level of quality and productivity.
- Reports to and advises the CEO and founder of the company in IT operational issues and their impacts to the business to ensure information technology needs of company are met.
